In-Depth Role Analysis

Media Master Program

GroupM opens the Media Master Program every year, the main route for new graduates to enter the media industry. The 2024 version was a one-year rotation program in which interns rotate across departments before their final placement is decided.

Full Interview Process Breakdown

Media Master Program (2024 process)

According to a 2024 successful hire, the interview has two stages:

Stage 1: HR video interview (about 15 minutes, in Mandarin)

After passing the resume screen, HR sends a scheduling link. Questions include:

  • Self-introduction
  • Why do you want to join this program?
  • Describe a setback and what you learned from it
  • Teamwork experience

Stage 2: On-site interview (about 3 hours or more)

Divided into three parts:

A. Company introduction (20 minutes) HR and the GM introduce the company culture, with drinks and snacks during the break.

B. Case analysis (group discussion) Groups of about 5, each given 3 sheets of poster paper and colored markers. The prompt is shown on a projector, for example: "You have a NT$1M budget to promote a new company's product line. How would you allocate it? What results would you expect?" 30 minutes of discussion + a 5-minute presentation. Managers observe from the side and take notes on every speaker.

C. Panel Interview The same group faces about 5 managers, each asking one question that everyone answers in turn:

  1. Self-introduction
  2. Teamwork: how do you put the right person in the right position?
  3. What is your vision for the media industry?
  4. Which department do you most want to join, and why?
  5. What unique strength makes us have to hire you?
