Interview Process at a Glance
Nestlé Taiwan's summer internship (branded Nesternship in recent cycles) mirrors the full-time MT process but with fewer rounds, mostly running late March to late May:
- Application (around late March, English resume)
- Online stage: a motivation video (Why Nestlé, why should Nestlé hire you) plus an online game test (reflex games and scenario questions checking culture fit); some roles add an SHL test
- Round 1: line manager plus marketing director (or the supply chain manager group for SC roles), about 1 hour, all in Chinese, behavioral questions that dig into your resume
- Round 2: BU head, about 1 hour, all in Chinese, more about who you are, with roughly 20 minutes reserved for your questions
Note: the global "Nesternship" (for example in India) is an 8-week virtual program built around gamified Talent Games; the Taiwan internship uses the live interview process above. (Sources: Grace Wang Medium 2021 / mr.teeth Medium / Dcard)
Real Interview Questions from Candidates

Resume and Behavioral (Round 1)
- Was this your only internship? Do you have any other relevant industry or project experience? (Source: Grace Wang 2021, CRM intern)
- What exactly did you do in your past internship, and what did the projects produce? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- In your past projects, what were you most proud of? What was most frustrating or challenging? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Have you ever had your opinion rejected by others? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Do you prefer working independently, in a team, or leading and assigning work as a leader? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Can you give an example of setting a higher goal and achieving it? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Can you share a time you took someone's advice and changed something? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
The interviewer is effectively running a skills checklist (market research, ability to produce reports independently, logic, cross-functional communication). Each question confirms whether you have those, so aim your answers at them.
Technical and Situational
- Walk through a project experience; interviewers probe every step with "why did you decide that" (Source: mr.teeth, supply chain internship)
- Share a time you had a conflict with a team member (Source: mr.teeth)
- Which interests you more, Planning or Logistics? (Source: mr.teeth)
- What do you understand or imagine about this internship project? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- If your boss sets a target and expects you to hit it, how would you approach it? (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
Round 2 (BU head)
- How would your parents, siblings, friends, former managers, colleagues or classmates describe you? (Source: Grace Wang 2021). This round is about personality, so prepare your own questions to ask the manager.
What Past Candidates Say
"The online game test was quite polished. Some parts are actual games testing your reflexes, others are scenario questions where you pick an answer to test whether you fit Nestlé's culture." — mr.teeth (Medium, Nestlé supply chain internship, 2024)
"Picture the manager holding a checklist of hard and soft skills. When your story shows 'experience designing questionnaires' or 'can produce a research report and explain the logic behind the insights,' they tick that skill off." — Grace Wang (Medium, 2021 Nestlé CRM internship)
"The round 2 manager left about 20 minutes for my questions, so doing your homework beforehand really matters." — Grace Wang (Medium, 2021 Nestlé CRM internship)
How to Prepare for These Questions
- Nail the two video questions: Why Nestlé and Why you, delivering your differentiator within one minute (Source: mr.teeth)
- Reverse-engineer a skills list from the JD: map "market research, independent report writing, cross-functional communication, project management" onto your campus organizations and coursework projects, and prepare a story for each (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Prepare the decision logic for project questions: managers probe "why did you do it this way" step by step, so think through the reasoning and takeaway for each move (Source: mr.teeth)
- Prep the "how would others describe you" answer and your own questions for round 2: the BU head round is about knowing you as a person and reserves about 20 minutes for your questions (Source: Grace Wang 2021)
- Language is mostly Chinese, with the video and self-intro in English; stay relaxed on the game test and answer scenario items honestly against Nestlé's culture (Source: Grace Wang / mr.teeth)
